Meet the Board of Directors

Dr. Katherine Fitting, Chair

Katherine Fitting has lived in Park County full-time since 2004 but has been coming to the Fairplay area for recreation since childhood. She is a physician and ran the clinic in Fairplay for 10 years.

She and her husband, Dale, have owned and operated The Hand Hotel, the Silver Scoop Creamery, and The Old Red Barn in Fairplay since 1995. The Fitting household also includes two dogs and eight rescued burros.

Carol Talbert, Vice Chair

Carol feels that one should not just live in a community, but that they should contribute to the community; having medical services improves the livability of the community and nearby areas.

Carol is happy to serve as a Board member of the South Park Health Service District. She volunteers at the local food bank and has a degree in Fine Arts with Certification to teach grades K-12.

Charles Schultz, Treasurer

In 1999, Charlie retired after 36 years in general construction management and came to the Fairplay area to build a home for himself and his wife Carolyn. Since moving to South Park, Charlie has been involved in management of various building projects including the medical building in Fairplay.

In his free time, Charlie enjoys skiing, hiking, cutting wood for the winter, climbing at least one fourteener each summer, and learning to fly fish. Charlie believes that two key components to a thriving community are good schools and adequate health care access. Therefore, Charlie is committed to bringing healthcare to South Park by serving as a board member for the South Park Health Service District.

Dr. Christina Ryan, Secretary

Dr. Christina Ryan has been a full-time resident of Park County since June 2023. She is a community health nurse with a Doctor of Nursing Practice specializing in the delivery of evidence-based health care.

Her career began as a pediatric nurse in Los Angeles and Atlanta. Her patient population changed to serving veterans in their homes after moving to Phoenix in 2013. Currently, Dr. Ryan lives in Hartsel and is an Associate Professor in Abilene Christian University’s Doctor of Nursing Practice Program.

Kevin Pollard, Board Member

Kevin moved to Park County in 2005, shortly after retiring as a colonel, Medical Service Corps, in the United States Air Force after a 31-year career. He commanded an Air Force medical facility at the time of his retirement. He holds a master of health administration degree from Baylor University, and was previously board-certified by the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Kevin feels privileged to live in this community, and he believes in contributing to the well-being of its residents. He is an active volunteer with the South Park Food Bank, previously served on the South Park Recreation District board, and is a past HOA president. He hopes to leverage his healthcare-related skills and experiences for the benefit of South Park residents. As with most community members, Kevin enjoys almost anything that involves the outdoors.
